School Report Cards
Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) releases a "report card" for each school and district in the state. The report card is intended to inform the public of the performance of schools in the areas of English/Language Arts (ELA), Math, and school climate. We are pleased to inform you that the report card for Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65 is now posted online. The report cards highlights the achievements of the children of Lake Bluff and demonstrates that the schools continue to be bastions of educational excellence for all children. Specifically, the report card highlights the following:
- 70% of the students who took the exam demonstrated proficiency in rigorous, common core aligned exams of ELA and Math.
- 96% of our students who were in 8th grade last year completed Algebra I or higher prior to leaving us.
- Every subgroup that is measured (Students with Disabilities, Students from low-income backgrounds, and Students who are English Language Learners) posted scores that were equal to or better than our peers in the area.
We won't rest on these laurels. We know that we have our work cut out for us with the PARCC Assessments coming up later this month. We recognize that writing across the curriculum is going to be imperative if we are to improve our scores in ELA. And we continue to believe that our schools are the best for students of all backgrounds and have committed ourselves to ensuring our vision, "Excellence in Education, Enthusiasm for life, Every Student, Every Day" becomes a reality. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know.
