NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
On May 29, 2013 at 9 AM, a meeting conducted by Lake Bluff School District 65 will take place at 900 North Shore Drive, Suite 220, Lake Bluff, IL. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the district's plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2013-2014 school year. If you are the parent of a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Lake Bluff School District 65, you are urged to attend. Transportation Registration
Registration is now open for the
2013-14 school year. Please look for registration forms in the mail or
in your child’s backpack. Reminder: there is NO FEE for transportation next year! Registration is still required and completed forms should be returned to the District Office.
Anne Wirtz Retires This Year as Director of Student Services & Assessment
(April 25, 2013) We wish a fond farewell to Dr. Anne Wirtz as she retires in June from her position as director of student services & assessment.
Dr. Wirtz has been with the District for seven years. She has worked closely with district families and staff to provide educational plans for our students to reach their highest potential and makes every decision leading with students' needs and success as her number one priority. Her depth of experience, her education and her connections within the fields of special needs and curriculum have made it possible for the Lake Bluff Schools to actively engage and individually challenge each student to meet his or her unique potential.

Board of Education Fills New Combined Special Services/Curriculum Position
(April 25, 2013) The Board of Education has hired Kevin Rubenstein for the new position of director of special services/curriculum beginning with the 2013-2014 school year. The new post combines services, assessment and curriculum into one position, and will direct and supervise all functions related to curriculum and special education. The Board's creation of the new combined position came about after Dr. Anne Wirtz, director of student services & assessment, announced several months ago that she would retire from her position of director of student services & assessment at the end of this school year.
