Summer Reading in Lake Bluff

Students reading books

LBES has a summer reading assignment!  All of our students will read 5 books (or texts) over the summer and write the titles on their READO board.  Students choose the books!  Write each title in a “Free Choice” spot on the board.  If you’d like a challenge, read the specific type of book in each square!  Readers can also count books read TO them, of course.

Here are the two boards:  Pre K-2  and  3-5.

For Middle School Students

The goal is for all students to read at least five books this summer.  The students may use their Chromebooks to access free e-books on Epic.  All students were given access to a free account through Google Classroom.  This account is valid for free access through June 30th.

Lake Bluff Library and Lake Forest Book Store are all willing to help students check out and purchase books as well.  Students can use their public library cards to download free books using the apps Libby or Hoopla .

After reading each book, students have been instructed to post their responses in our LBMS Summer Reading Padlet (the password is LBMS).  All students who complete five posts will be entered into our Summer Reading Raffle Drawing in the fall!
