About Girls Volleyball
Lake Bluff has a 7th and 8th Grade Interscholastic Girls volleyball program that competes in the Lakeside Athletic Conference. The Bobcats have numerous successful finishes, plus a championship banner in the rafters at LBMS.
The season begins immediately following the winter sports tournaments in late January and runs through Mid-March. The season usually culminates with a conference tournament in the 3rd week of March. The boys teams will play a minimum of 9 regular season games and then enter the conference tournament. The tournament consists of one evening of pool play with the top 2 teams in each pool competing for the conference championship the next day.
Volleyball typically draws a large number of tryout attendees here at LBMS. Due to limits on facilities, coaches, and time, this is a cut sport. Players are evaluated over a period of 2-4 days where they showcase their skills, and knowledge of the game and almost equally as important, their ability to work within a team, show leadership and a work ethic. Teams are then posted to the website via randomly assigned numbers the Saturday following tryout week.
