Mark Barry
Personal Background
Mark and his family have lived in Lake Bluff since July of 2008. His two sons both attended Lake Bluff District 65 schools and Lake Forest High School, with the youngest graduating in 2017. Mark's wife works for AbbVie. Mark is a veteran stay-at-home father who has always been actively involved in his community. Prior to staying at home Mark was an Environmental Engineer and consultant, most recently managing environmental compliance at over 600 properties for a large petroleum retailer. Mark holds an M.E. in Environmental Engineering and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, both from Manhattan College in The Bronx, NY. In addition, Mark has a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.
Community Involvement
Mark has been involved in a variety of local community service activities including; the NSSED Governing Board, NSSED APS Board, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Learning Disabilities Board, LBES principal search committee, the District 65 21st Century Learners curriculum committee, Soccer and Little League coaching, and scouting and swim team events. In addition, Mark worked with local parents to bring Project Eye-to-Eye, a mentoring program, to the area for children with learning differences. Prior to moving to Lake Bluff, Mark started and ran a support and advocacy organization for families of children with learning differences.
