Preschool Screenings
Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65 has a commitment to identifying children who may be in need of additional support beginning at the earliest ages.
Lake Bluff School District 65 provides educational screening at no charge for preschool-age children who reside in Lake Bluff. Three, four, and five year-old children who have not entered Kindergarten are eligible for the preschool screening. The purpose of screening children is to help parents identify any development challenges in their children, not for advance placement in school. Developmental delays can be observed in a child’s speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, learning ability, or emotional and social growth. Nurses will also complete a brief vision and hearing screening.
Screenings take place on the following dates during the school year:
September 7th, 2022
October 5th, 2022
November 2nd, 2022
December 7th, 2022
January 4th, 2023
February 1st, 2023
March 1st, 2023
April 5th, 2023
May 3rd, 2023
In order to participate, a child must be registered in advance. After the child is registered, an e-mail link with a questionnaire will be sent home to the parent/guardian. The screening occurs in person at Lake Bluff Elementary School with safety precautions in place.
