Dear Lake Bluff District 65 Community Members,

Last month, Board President Andy Duran shared his intent to resign at the end of the school year due to his family’s upcoming relocation. We are so sad to see him and his wonderful family leave our district, but the impact the Duran family has made will be felt for many years.

Per board policy, the current Vice President, Anne Hill, will assume the role of President upon Andy’s official resignation in June. We appreciate Anne's willingness to lead and her service as Vice President. The board will then restructure once Andy’s vacated seat has been filled for the remaining roles.

The board is now seeking interested community members to fill the vacated seat, which will serve from June 18, 2024, until it is up for reelection in April 2025. Interested residents must submit an application to be considered for the vacancy.

We strongly encourage all interested individuals to apply. The Board plays a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape of our schools, and your participation could make a significant impact. Please find the application link here and further details on the role from the Illinois Association of School Boards: School Board Governance Basics.

Applicants should be prepared to attend an in-person interview on May 14, 2024, at LB District Administrative Offices. The interview sessions are planned for the following times:

  • Morning: 8:30 - 10:30 AM

  • Afternoon: 12:30 - 2:30 PM

  • Evening: 5:30 - 7:30 PM

We hope you will consider this unique opportunity to contribute to our community’s educational governance. If you know someone who may be interested and suitable for this role, please pass this message along to them.

Thank you,

Dr. Lisa Leali
