Lake Bluff Limelight: Meet Our Exceptional Lake Bluff Staff!
At Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65, our staff members are the heart and soul of our educational community. Join us in celebrating their inspiring stories and remarkable achievements in our Staff Spotlight series.
Today, we're highlighting Vanessa Grum, Elementary Spanish Teacher Grades K-2 | Multilingual Teacher. Ms. Grum has been with Lake Bluff District 65 for 7 years. Let's get to know her:
What motivated you to become a teacher?
"I have always known that I wanted to teach because I love working with children to help them learn about our world!"
Can you share words of advice or wisdom with our students/families?
"Everyone smiles in the same language "
When you aren't at school, what are you most likely doing?
"I love to travel to new places, spend time with my family, exercise, read and journal in my free time."
When you were younger, how did you answer the question, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'
"I always knew I would be teacher when I was little, so that was my answer!"
What does 'Every Day is the Lake Bluff Way' or the motto 'Excellence in Education, Enthusiasm for Life, Every Student, Every Day' mean to you?
"Growing up in Lake Bluff myself and now having the privilege to work and raise my family here is such a gift. Lake Bluff is a very special place where everyone looks out for each other. Our motto to me means that each individual child is supported and encouraged in their educational journey by every educator who they work with. I am so grateful to be part of the team at District 65 who all work together for the good of our students."
Thank you, Vanessa! Your dedication, passion, and commitment to our students make a world of difference every day.
