Lake Bluff Limelight: Meet Our Exceptional Lake Bluff Staff! 

At Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65, our staff members are the heart and soul of our educational community. Join us in celebrating their inspiring stories and remarkable achievements in our Staff Spotlight series.

Today, we're highlighting Cassie Lettow, Pre-K Learning Behavior Specialist at LBES. Ms. Lettow has been with Lake Bluff District 65 for 13 years. Let's get to know her:

 What motivated you to become a teacher?

"Ever since high school, when I saw a student with special needs being treated poorly by his peers, I knew I wanted to help people with special needs feel included, accepted, and one with everyone else. I wasn't set on the path of how that would take place; I just knew it was something I was passionate about. That led me to choose the major of Special Education when I went to college at Illinois State University and became a Special Education Teacher."

 Can you share words of advice or wisdom with our students/families?
"We are all different, and that is BEAUTIFUL."

 When you aren't at school, what are you most likely doing?
"Chasing around my two toddlers (Claire 1 1/2 years old, Nolan 3 1/2 years old) and spending time with my husband. We love spending time as a family."

 When you were younger, how did you answer the question, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'
"I likely changed my mind multiple times when I was younger, thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up. It wasn't until my high school experience that I knew for sure the route I wanted to go to."

 What does 'Every Day is the Lake Bluff Way' or the motto 'Excellence in Education, Enthusiasm for Life, Every Student, Every Day' mean to you?
"I personally feel that this means that everyone in Lake Bluff (staff, students, parents, etc) all work together towards the common goal of supporting everyone who walks through the LBES doors."
