Restraint and Time Out District Plan
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The State of Illinois recently updated its laws and guidance on the use of physical restraint and time out in schools. The new law requires every school district in Illinois to develop a plan to reduce and/or eliminate the use of physical restraint and time out in its schools. The district then must convene an oversight committee to review the district's plan. This oversight committee will include parents, teachers, administrators, specialists and teaching assistants who volunteer to be a part of the committee.
This Oversight Committee met on May 24th, 2022 from 3:30pm-4:30pm. The role of oversight committee members was to review the plan and give feedback on its contents. The plan is now posted publicly on the district website for all parents to review and submit feedback.
We are asking parents and community members to review the plan and provide feedback on this survey: RTO Plan Feedback Survey

Public Posting
April 30th, 2024
To the LBMS Class of 2018 8th Grade Graduates,
According to Illinois School Code, each school shall maintain student temporary records and the information contained in those records for not less than 5 years after the student has transferred, graduated, or otherwise withdrawn from the school. A school may maintain indefinitely anonymous information from student temporary records for authorized research, statistical reporting or planning purposes, provided that no student or parent can be individually identified from the information maintained. In compliance, Lake Bluff School District 65 will be destroying the inactive temporary records for students who have graduated in 2018.
Students interested in keeping their Special Education records should contact me before July 1, 2024. After that date, all remaining records will be destroyed. Please reach out, if you have any questions, to Kaitlyn Stabenow at (847)234-9400 or at
kstabenow@lb65.org.
Thank you,
Kaitlyn Stabenow
